Stine Skytte, Artisan Weaver

I have beautiful memories of growing up on the island of Funen and how, even as a very young girl, I started to take an interest in weaving. Simply because my mother - besides her job as a school teacher - was a weaver. These memories of playing underneath my mother’s loom are a very significant part of me.

 

Since I left Kolding Design School I have worked with extensions, recycling and upcycling. In 2012 I started the very first physical dress swap shop in the world both as a small business but mainly as a comment to the new sharing economy.

My textile output is very wide-ranging – from simple and dusty vertical paterns to crazy and colorful Rya Graffiti. Always playful in order to have fun, while I work.
